New Products: Caroline Jane Candles

Back in December we received a beautiful fresh coffee candle from a friend for Christmas, and I instantly fell in love! I'm a total candle addict and it was by far the best candle I've ever used; even when not burning it made our entire home smell amazing, and the lovely crackling of the wooden wick just won my heart over. The fact it was cruelty free and handmade using vegan friendly ingredients was a huge plus too.

We used the candle pretty much daily until it ran out only very recently (soy candles last a lot longer!), and I just knew I had to stock it. After viewing Caroline Jane's website, I knew they'd be perfect for Little Miss Delicious - the range of fragrances available all sounded so sweet and amazing; perfect for LMD!

With scents like Cinnamon Whirl, Banana Nut Bread and of course Fresh Coffee, these candles smell good enough to eat!

All Caroline Jane candles are handmade from sustainable soy wax, and are vegan friendly and cruelty free - they're free from any animal derived ingredients and are never tested on animals. Handcrafted in small batches in Shropshire, England, each candle is made using the finest sustainable soy wax around and only the most fabulous fragrance oils, which is what makes them smell so great. The candles feature a wooden wick, which adds the subtle scent of burning wood and a relaxing soft crackling sound into the mix. Each candle really is made with such great thought and care, and it shows.

Soy wax is 100% plant based as it's made from pure soy bean oil, and is cleaner burning than more traditional waxes such as paraffin wax because it has a lower melting temperature making it safer and longer lasting. It's also environmentally friendly as it's biodgradable, comes from a renewable source and is easy to clean - just use plain old soap and water and you can reuse your tin.

Beautifully presented and incredibly scented, these candles are the perfect way to add a warm, homely fragrance to any room, and also make great gifts!

Passion Planner Review

Back in 2014 a few fellow business owners asked for my help with their social media, and ended up actually hiring me to run it because they were so happy with the work I'd done. Fast forward two years, and now my social media work has rapidly spread via word of mouth, and is something I do on a daily basis alongside Little Miss Delicious.

Even just with Little Miss Delicious alone my days are very hectic, so gradually introducing more and more of the social media management work has definitely been a challenge. I'm a huge fan of planning out my days - being self employed, time management is one of the most important aspects, especially when you factor in working from home and the constant distractions!

I treat myself to a Passion Planner for Christmas, and it's been one of the best purchases I've made. There's plenty of space to plan every day, as well as space for notes and even monthly summaries so you can look over everything you've achieved. I posted a snap of it on my personal Facebook and it got lots of interest, so I thought I'd share my little system with you guys too.

I sit down every Sunday to plan out my week, to try and make sure I'm ready for the week ahead and to ease my mind so I know everything is written down and I don't have a Monday panic about not knowing what I need to do. The first time I wrote in it was actually pretty scary - I don't know if anyone else gets like that about stationery, but I just find the first mark so hard to do! Like it's a perfect notepad until I ruin it with all my stress-y scribbles, but as soon as I started using it, I don't think I could be without it!

Having it colour co-ordinated helps give me a good overview of what I'm focusing on that week - yellow for social media work, blue for Little Miss Delicious, green for time off, pink for important, orange for exercise and light pink for breaks and food. I use post its for any additional info, especially things that I know are likely to change throughout the week so I can re-do the post its without ruining the page of the planner - that's totally normal, right? ;)

It also helps me realise if I'm working too much... after seeing how much work and how little time off I had the previous two weeks, this week's schedule has a better balance, to make sure I don't just work myself into exhaustion. I'm also slowly trying to work in house chores too - although I'm not sure there's going to be enough page space for everything!

I love how their Instagram is full of great suggestions on how to best utilise the planner, and it's forever keeping me motivated to use mine. How do you schedule your days? I'd love to know your planning techniques!

Feature Friday: VE Cosmetics

This week's Feature Friday post is all about the 100% ethically sourced independent cosmetics brand VE Cosmetics. VE Cosmetics was born out of a love of make up and cruelty free choices - all their products are handmade, vegan friendly and not tested on animals. Having recently became vegan I jumped at the chance to work with them when they got in touch!

I created an exclusive limited run of Pixie Poop logo necklaces, based on their logo by The Patchwork Monkey, to celebrate the launch of their new Pixie Poop eyeshadow range.

The Pixie Poop necklaces comes on a 16" chain, and like all Little Miss Delicious designs, all the necklaces are hand sculpted from polymer clay, baked then hand painted and glazed for a shiny finish.

If you purchase it with a Pixie Poop eye shadow it even comes in its own little presentation box!

Deliciousaurus Collection

It's been nearly a month since my last post, and what a month it's been. As well as upping my training for the Great North Run (I'm running for the British Heart Foundation this year - click here to check out my Just Giving page), getting a new kitten so Salem has a little friend, turning 25 and going dairy free, I've also been snowed under with Little Miss Delicious work!

There's been a huge summer sale (sign up to my mailing list so you don't miss out on any future offers!) to help make way for new stock, including the new Deliciousaurus Collection - definitely a personal favourite so far. I've been obsessed with dinosaurs since I was little, and with Jurassic World coming out it felt only fitting to finally make a dinosaur inspired jewellery collection.

Inspired by all things cute and prehistoric, the latest addition to Little Miss Delicious features dinosaur inspired necklaces, rings, felt accessories and a charm bracelet to match. Terrifyingly cute!

As always, each piece of handmade jewellery has been delicately hand sculpted from polymer clay, then baked and painted as uniform as possible, but the joy of handmade means each piece is unique in its own way. No moulds or stencils are used in the creation of any Little Miss Delicious  jewellery pieces, and everything is glazed multiple times to make it super shiny.

The collection has only been up 6 weeks, but it's already very, very close to selling out so if you have your eye on anything, get it quick before it goes extinct! Shop now
